The number of rak'ahs in tahajud prayer

In the book, Xavi Cudsey says: "The smallest number of racquets is two, and the largest is 8 racats."

In the books "Javhara" and "Marakil Falah": "The smallest - 8 rak'ahs. You can choose as you wish. ”

Tahajud prayer time

The best time to perform tahajud namaz is the second half of the night (before dawn). During the last third of the night Almighty Allah receives a dua and announces: “Who will ask Me (for something) that I will give it to him? Who will beg Me for forgiveness so that I forgive him? ”

But if someone is unable to wake up this part of the night, he can perform the night prayer (tahajud) at any time after isha-prayer (night prayer). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Everything that happens after Isha is considered to be night (will be considered tahajud)” (at-Targib, Volume 1, p. 430, “Shami”, Volume 2, p. . 24).

Anyone who is not sure that he will wake up at night should make a vitre before bedtime. Moreover, if he wakes up at night, he can perform tahajud, but he does not need to repeat the vitr (“Shami”, Volume 1, p. 369).

The onset of Ramadan provides an ideal opportunity for this outstanding Sunna of our beloved Mentor (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to firmly enter our lives.

The virtue of tahajud namaz

The Qur'an says (meaning): “They tear their sides off the beds, calling out to their Lord with fear and hope, and spend from what We have given them. No man knows what delights for the eyes are hidden for them as a reward for what they did.”(Sura Al-Saja, verses 16-17).

Performing nafl-namaz (tahajud) late at night was a constant practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Mrs. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Do not leave the night prayer, for truly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never left the tahajud prayer. Even in the event of illness or weakness, he performed tahajud sitting. ”

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with him) says: “Never stop praying at night. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never stopped performing it. When he was sick or weak, he prayed while sitting"(Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) encouraged the Ummah to perform tahajud. The Fakihs established that tahajud is the most significant of all the nafl-namaz (Tahtavi, p. 393).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Get up to pray at night, this is truly the custom of righteous people before you, which will bring you closer to Allah, atone for your little sins, and refrain from sin."

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy on a man who woke up at night and performed a prayer and woke his wife, and if she refused, then sprinkled water on her. May Allah have mercy on a woman who woke up at night and performed a prayer and woke her husband, and he performed a prayer, and if he refused, she sprinkled water on him. " (He brought Ahmad in his Musnad, 2 volumes, 250 pages, and Abu Dawood in Sunan, 2 volumes, 73 pages)

Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever performs the prayer in the perfect manner at night, Allah will endow him with nine blessings - five in worldly life and four in ahirah.

Five benefits in worldly life:

1. Allah will save from adversity.

2. A trace of submission to the Creator on the face of a Muslim will be revealed.

3. He will be loved by the hearts of the righteous and by all people.

4. Wisdom will come from his tongue.

5. Allah will make him wise, that is, give him understanding.

Four blessings to be bestowed in akhirah:

1. A Muslim will be resurrected with a face illuminated by light.

2. The report on the Day of Judgment will be made easier for him.

3. He will cross the bridge of Sirat like a flash of lightning.

4. The book of deeds will be given in the right hand on the Day of Judgment.

Sayings of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

“The best namaz of the additional namaz is the namaz performed in the dead of night - namaz-tahajud” (transmitted by Ahmad).

“Performing the night prayer-tahajud will bring the reader closer to Allah, protect him from evil and cleanse him of diseases.”

"Dua accepted (better) in the middle of the night."

“Hello (that is, say“ as-salamu alaikum ”) with those around you, feed the poor, maintain close contact with your relatives and perform prayers when people sleep, and you will enter Paradise with the world.”

«In every night there is a moment when Allah that Allah asks for in the dua, Allah will fulfill"(Reported by Muslim).

«Namaz-tahajud will keep a person from committing sins and bring him closer to Allah”(Narrated by Tirmisi).

«Namaz-tahajud remove the horrors of the grave”(Narrated by ibn Maj).

«Namaz-tahajud is equal to the four rak'ats performed in Leilat ul-Qadr"(Narrated by Tabarani).

If you get up at night, knowing that there is someone else who also wants to perform this prayer, then wake him up. Intention (niyat) is best done before bedtime, and then, even if you oversleep (unintentionally), you will still receive a reward, inshaallah.

Mr. Abu Umama (may Allah be pleased with him) conveyed the following words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Remember the night prayer (tahajud), indeed: 1) it was practiced by the righteous who lived before you, 2) this is a way attaining intimacy with your Lord, 3) he is the atonement of sins, 4) he serves as a defense against disobedience. "

In other hadiths the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) so described tahajud:

5) the best of all prayers after obligatory,

6) an honor for a true believer,

7) the reason for the extreme contentment of Allah,

8) a way to easily go to heaven,

9) protection against diseases.

(At-Tarhib, Volume 1, pp. 423–435)

The Alimas said that one of the many virtues of tahajud namaz is that it illuminates with the nur (divine light) the face of the one who performs it and protects it from the horrors of Doomsday. The mother of the Prophet Suleiman (peace be upon him) advised her son: “Oh my son! “Do not spend a lot of time sleeping at night, because it is the cause of human poverty on Judgment Day.”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best prayer after the five obligatory prayers is the prayer of the night.” In another case, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) specified: “All those that, after night prayer (isha), refer to night prayer.”

The collective performance of the tahajud prayer is canonically condemned, for neither the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) nor his companions performed this prayer in the jamaat (collectively).

They conveyed from Khuzayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recited the al-Bakar and Al-Imran suras in night prayers, and when he reached the verses that mention Paradise, he stopped and asked Allah, and when he reached the verses that mention Hell, he stopped and asked for protection from Allah, and when he reached the verses that mentioned examples, he stopped and thought.

If they ask: “Is it better to stand long in prayer or to make numerous obeisances to the earth?” Is a reliable word that is transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He was asked about the best prayer (prayer), and he replied that this is the prayer in which standing will be long. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: "Your retribution will be in proportion to your fatigue."

Some conditions that make it easier to get up at night

1. Moderation in food. A hearty meal makes the stomach heavy and the body lazy, incline the person to sleep and make it difficult to rise.

2. The severity of sins. Sins make a person’s heart callous and close the gates of Allah’s mercy. Once, Hassan al-Basri was asked: “Oh Abu Sayd, I’m not sick either, and I want to get up at night to worship, and I’m preparing everything for this, but I don’t know why, I can’t get up at night.” To which Hassan al-Basri said: "You are shackled by the sins that you committed during the day."

3. Refusal of forbidden (haram) food. One of the righteous once said: “It often happens that once we eat the forbidden and deprive ourselves of waking up at night for worship for a whole year».

4. Knowledge of the value of night worship. For the reward for him is great. This will help a person to get up at night in an effort to earn the greatest retribution before Allah.

5. Love for your Creator. When the sincere love for Allah Almighty strengthens in the heart of the servant of God, he is seized by the desire to retire with the Creator of all things at a time when everyone is sleeping and worldly affairs do not distract him in the complete silence of the night. It is said that for forty years, Imam Abu Hanifa performed the morning prayer with a bath made for the night farz-namaz.

6. Reading the surah "Kaf." The scholar-theologian Afzaludin said: "She makes sleep easier."

7. Read the azkars before going to bed. It has been tested that azkars are the best thing that helps to get up at night.

8. Go to bed in the bath and make the intention to get up for tahajuda.

9. Refusal of greed for worldly possessions. An avid person tires the heart and body, and when night falls, he sleeps like a dead man.

It is advisable to devote less time to sleep and pray more on the following nights: festive - the night before the Feast of Revelation (Uraza Bairam) and the Feast of Sacrifice (Kurban Bairam), the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan, ten nights before the holiday of sacrifice (the first ten nights of the month Zul -jidja), the night of the middle of the month of Shaban (Lailat ul-Baraa), night on the day of Ashur (the tenth day of Muharram). There are hadiths emphasizing the peculiarity of these nights and the desirability of performing additional prayers at this time.

Sheikh Takhtavi, Hashiyatu Takhtavi, Hassan the son of Ammar, Marakil Falah, Abu Bakr the son of Masoud, Badaiu Sanai, Usman the son of Hassan, Durratu Nasikhin, Abdulvahab son of Ahmad, son of Ali Sharani, Lavakikhul an.

Prayer Time Tahajud

Namaz Tahajud is performed between the night prayer ('Isha) and the morning prayer (Fajr). Performing Tahajuda is Sunnah. The best time to complete this prayer is the last third of the night. If you set an alarm for a certain time to wake up on Fajr, then you can set it up 20-30 minutes early to perform Tahajud Namaz (or at another time, depending on how many racquets you intend to make, and whether you intend to after that, with personal prayer to Allah Almighty).

The Prayer of Tahajud will also be counted if the worshiper performs it at any other time of the night, and even immediately after Isha Namaz, but the greatest reward for it will be for those who specially wake up to perform it on the last third of the night.

Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Our Lord is Great and Mighty, descends to the lower heaven every night when it reaches its last third and says:“ Who pleading with me to answer him? Who asks me to give it to him? Who asks Me for forgiveness, so that I forgive him? ”” (Collections of hadiths of al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Praying Tahajud

Two cancers are considered the minimum necessary for performing Tahajud, and their maximum number is not clearly limited anywhere. In Tahajud Namaz you can perform as many two-prayer prayers as your soul desires. Most Muslims are limited to eight rakahtahs (that is, 4 prayers of 2 rakahtas each), and many also perform 12 rakahtas (6 prayers of 2 raqahtas). According to the Sunnah, in the first rakah'te after Al-Fatiha, it is recommended to read the Surah Al-Kafirun, and in the second - Al-Ikhlyas, although even more are supposed to be used for reading longer surasaboutthe best reward.

After completing the prayer, Tahajud is recommended to turn to Allah Almighty with a personal prayer, ask Him for help, for the forgiveness of sins, and give thanks for all the blessings that He has endowed you with. Also, according to some hadiths, after Tahajud, one can perform one rakah of prayer Vitra, as the completion of the night prayer as a whole.

The Importance of Tahajud Namaz

The Koran says about the merits of performing tahajud: “They tear their sides away from their beds, invoking their Lord with fear and hope, and spend from what we have endowed them with. No man knows what pleasures for the eyes are hidden for them as a retribution for what they did ”(Sura Al-Saja, verses 16-17).

The Messenger of the Almighty (pbuh) performed nafil-namaz (tahajud) constantly, even despite his state of health. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Get up to pray at night, this is truly the custom of righteous people before you, which will bring you closer to Allah, atone for your little sins, and abstain from sin.”

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Whoever performs the namaz in a perfect manner at night, Allah will endow him with nine blessings - five in worldly life and four in ahirah."

Among the five worldly blessings, Muhammad (pbuh) distinguishes the protection of Allah from misfortunes, the love of people for a Muslim who performs tahajud, the achievement of wisdom, humility before Allah and enlightenment. Of the four blessings of the achirah, the Prophet (pbuh) distinguishes the resurrection of a Muslim with a clarified face, the facilitation of a Muslim’s report on the Day of Judgment, the quick and painless passage through the Sirat Bridge, and the delivery of the book of human deeds on the Day of Judgment in the right hand.

Collectively tahajud is forbidden to perform since the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions did not perform this prayer in the jamaat (collectively).
